Fathom launches a new business model for Carnival Corporation, the
world’s largest cruise company serving nearly 11 million people around
the world every year, combining travel and social impact into a consumer
experience that is mindful, purpose-driven, and sustainable.
Russell generated the idea for Fathom in 2013 and led research,
design and development of the brand, business model, and experience from
January 2014 to launch in June 2015.
Carnival launched Fathom business in 2015, with Russell responsible
for Fathom and the corporation’s global impact programs, reporting to
Arnold Donald, President and CEO of Carnival Corporation.
Fathom launched initial impact travel experiences to the Dominican Republic and Cuba (previously closed to the first world).
Create Common Good (CCG) is a non-profit social enterprise that
provides training and employment opportunities to refugees and other
vulnerable groups with barriers to employment.
Russelll created CCG in 2008 to change lives and empower
self-sufficiency through a creative food production-social enterprise
model, and is currently Chairman of the Board of CCG.
CCG has delivered more than 100,000 job training hours, with average employment success outcome of over 90%.
CCG has returned over $18 Million back into the community via graduate earned wages.
The organization was awarded grants from Newmand’s Own Foundation
and the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health for their work to
promote healthy eating habits through snack and grab & go
